A LONG LONG TIME AGO WITH DAVE CAMERON

Late Saturday night/early Sunday morning from Midnight to 3 a.m. (PT).
A Long Long Time Ago is simply about early Rock n’ Roll up to the British Invasion. Its’ evolution included northern band Rock n’ Roll (e.g., Bill Haley), Rhythm and Blues, Rockabilly, Doo Wop and New Orleans Shuffle.
Many of the charted songs from that era included a curious mix of pop tunes that teens accepted well, even cover versions of the originals. This show is about those originals and their connections to other exciting sounds of the time.
And Dave spins the actual rare 45’s from his own collection so you’ll hear rarities that haven’t had fresh air for decades! A Long, Long Time Ago with Dave Cameron. These are the good old days!
After returning from Vietnam back in 1971, Dave started his lengthy career in radio at WRHY in Harrisburg, PA. When the station sold he became a singing waiter in Valley Forge, PA. There a talent agent approached him and said that instead of wasting time in Pennsylvania he should waste time out in California! So in 1977 Dave hit the west coast and he’s has been tearing it up ever since!
Dave continued working in radio at KPCC FM in Pasadena as well as KCLU in Ventura, CA. His love of big band and swing music has remained strong and he continues to perform around the southland crooning in front of various big bands in town.
He also remains extremely dedicated to his fellow veterans and makes time to perform weekly at the VA hospital here in Northridge, CA. to standing room–only crowds. A crooner? Dave is a master of American popular song, just ask his adoring fans!
