AMERICANA ALTERNATIVE WEEKNIGHT PROGRAMMING

In an effort to bring greater consistency and a higher profile to our Arts and Roots programming format, KCSN’s weekday evening programming features the same provocative music you hear on weekends; the music of perennial poets and social commentators spanning the late 20th Century into the present. The latest in the world of Americana, which covers a wide expance of indigenous music such as Folk and Singer/Songwriter, Bluegrass, Blues, Classic and Alternative Country, Blues and Swing, and Country Rock & Roll to name a few.

Students from the University’s nationally known Music Industry Studies Program will assist in identifying new artists that can be showcased to our Los Angeles audience.

KCSN remains the only station in Los Angeles to feature what is known as Adult Album Alternative music, a format called “Triple A”. Our new format will be unique unto itself, much like all of the programming that we offer here on Arts & Roots Radio.

If you are interested in seeing exactly what we are programming then please click here now and check out this month’s KCSN Americana Alternative playlists. You will see many familiar names as well as brand new music that is being released today and featured on The Americana Music Association national airplay chart.

The Americana Music Association is a professional trade organization whose mission is to provide a forum for the advocacy of Americana music and to promote public awareness of the genre to support the creative and economic viability of professionals in this field. In short, they are a professional trade association dedicated to building and promoting the Americana genre and the individuals who participate in the industry.

We are programming with an emphasis on American roots music and the great singer–songwriters from yesterday and today.

If you enjoy KCSN’s unique weekend programming fare then you will love our new weeknight offerings.
