DOWN HOME WITH CHUCK TAGGART

Thursday evenings from 7 - 9pm.
A native of New Orleans, Down Home host Chuck Taggart is a connoisseur of flavorful food – and music. So, every week Chuck serves up a musical gumbo and he calls it Down Home. It's made with the finest Americana ingredients, from Folk, Roots, Old Time, Bluegrass, Country and New Orleans R&B to traditional Jazz, Gospel, Tex–Mex, Norteno, French–Canadian, Maritime, and, of course, Cajun and Zydeco.
Digressions into Celtic music and dalliances into South American indigenous music add a little spice. Basically, Chuck’s recipe for his show is whatever tastes good in the gumbo. So pull up a chair every Thursday evening and dig in. And help yourself to seconds. There’s plenty to go around!
The show also features live performances whenever possible. We don’t have a fancy performance studio and a paid engineering staff, so it’s Chuck winging it at the board and the musicians gather around one or two mikes, Opry–style.
Musical guests over the last few years have included Red Meat, Chris Smither, Battlefield Band, Lazy Lester, Katy Moffatt, Cliff Eberhardt, Adie Grey & Doug MacKenzie, and the musicians of Na Mele O Paniolo (Music of the Hawaiian Cowboy).
