THE DYLAN HOURS WITH LISA FINNIE

Sunday night from 7 to 9pm (PT).

The Dylan Hours on KCSN, hosted by Lisa Finnie, airs every Sunday night from 7–9 pm and features gems from Bob Dylan’s five illustrious decades of recording. The show blends greatest hits, classic album cuts and rare bootleg recordings together with Dylan covers, covers of Dylan, and requests from listeners.

Bob Dylan is an American singer–songwriter, author, musician, and poet who has been a major figure in popular music for five decades. Much of Dylan’s most recognized work dates from the 1960’s, when he became an informal chronicler and a reluctant figurehead of American unrest.

A number of his songs, such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a–Changin'”, became anthems of the anti–war and civil rights movements. His most recent studio album, Modern Times, released on August 29, 2006, entered the U.S. album charts at #1, making him, at age 65, the oldest living person to top those charts.

Lisa Finnie also performs as a singer–songwriter in and around the Los Angeles area. With an unpredictable line–up of Los Angeles’ finest players at her side, the torchy singer’s gigs are as fresh as a traveling salesman and as infectious as an office cold.

Dylan Exhibit at the Skirball Banner and Link

Before emerging as arguably the most important songwriter in rock history, the man born as Robert Zimmerman grew up in a small Minnesota town. Hearkening back to his earliest days, this exhibition–organized by Experience Music Project–chronicles Dylan’s transformation from Midwestern teen to folk troubadour, artistic innovator, and compelling voice of social conscience.

Featuring more than 160 artifacts, including Dylan’s handwritten drafts of classic songs, rare concert posters and a recording of his first concert, the exhibition focuses on the first decade of his celebrated career. Click here for more information
