John's Attic with John Minnicucci

Saturdays 12am - 2am (Pacific Time)

John Minnicucci

If you like the original rhythm & blues sounds of the 1940s, ’50s, and ’60s, then you owe it to yourself to spend some time up in John’s Attic on KCSN. John Minnicucci has been an avid record collector since the 1950s while growing up in the Pittsburgh area, and you will hear these rare records from his one-of-a-kind collection in every broadcast. A lot of these artists are up in soul heaven, but their music lives on in John’s Attic.

Enjoy specialty programming such as sets of R&B vocal groups, car songs, an R&B Christmas show, Mardi Gras music from The Crescent City, a Mother’s Day all-girl song name show, cover songs, songs with the same title and a hefty dose of the blues (not the hard rockin’ new stuff, but those classics by Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, Leadbelly and Ruth Brown).

Known to listeners as “The Cooch,” John started in radio in 1987 answering phones at KPCC-FM for Bill Gardner’s Friday night Rhythm and Blues Time Capsule, hosting short segments before launching his own three-hour show. John’s Attic moved to KCSN when KPCC dropped local music programming.
