THE RUSH HOURS WITH ANDY RUSH

Saturday mornings from 7am to 10 pm
We feel as though the time is right to be able to mix some roots based Classic Rock, like Dylan, Dave Mason, Traffic and others, with some of the new Alternative Country on the softer side, coming out of places like Austin, Texas as well as right here in L.A. It's be a great way to start your Saturday mornings beginning at 7am right here on KCSN.
Something soft, something medium and of course faster paced music, mixed with savory memories of songs you might've forgotten and of course, the new underground music that is not being played on commercial radio anywhere!
After finishing up as a Radio Broadcasting Major at The University of Vermont at Melrose (L.A.C.C.), Andy held down a 12–hour shift playing elevator music and doing taped newscasts and commercials at KOTE FM in Lancaster. Then came a summer gig at KREO, Indio. In the the Spring of ’75, he took a job for $400 a month and all the 45 rpm records he could eat up in Yuba City, California, spinning Country 6 hours a night/six days a week for an AM/FM combination.
Andy worked for KZAP FM along with KROI–97 FM and at the end of 1982, he was hired to do weekend mornings and fill–in at K–FOG FM in San Francisco, staying until March of ’85, when the competition saved him and he went to work for his first CBS owned FM radio station, also in S.F. In 1987 Andy was hired in Los Angeles for CBS again, recreating the former but smooth 93KNX/FM format for a year.
