Welcome to the world of Country music recorded before the year 1980 and the very best of today’s underground country scene! TWANG is a radio show that brings listeners the sounds of real country music from its rich musical heyday, plus an exploration of rare b–sides and ancient radio shows.
While showcasing performers that are preserving the heritage of country music, TWANG also seeks out groups that have not yet been signed to major labels or seen major publicity. And we never forget the classics from Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, Patsy Cline, Buck Owens, Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn. And Nick also features live interviews with some of Conuntry Music’s greatest all-stars, plus rare in-studio performances as well.
Every Saturday at 11:30am Cowboy Nick presents The Jimmy Wakely Kissin’ Country Archives, 1/2 an hour devoted to the rarest and best– preserved live Classic Country radio programs from Mr. Wakely’s own personal collection.
